Research and Information

The Research & Information Unit (RIU) is the Legal Aid Board’s integrated library and research service. It is situated at 7-11 Montague Street, Dublin 2. It is comprised of two specialist libraries and associated services and is designed to support the work of the Board and select agencies of the Department of Justice & Equality.

The first of the libraries housed in the RIU is known as the Legal Aid Board Library. It is a Civil & Family law library and offers an information and research service to staff members in law centres across the country. It is not publicly accessible.

The second specialist library is known as the Refugee Documentation Centre (RDC) and has a vast collection of material relating to Asylum and Refugee Law matters. It operates a Country of Origin Information research and query service in support of select Department of Justice agencies. The RDC Library is accessible to members of the public by appointment only.
